Emma Lawton got her 12th cap for Scotland on Tuesday as her national side drew 1-1 with Belgium at Easter Road. She played well, but she was on the receiving end of a horror tackle from an opposition player.
Brought off in the 53rd minute, the Scotland National Team account posted on X, revealing that the defender has not travelled for the return leg due to injury.

It's going to be a massive hit for Scotland when they take on Belgium on Saturday. They are fighting for qualification to the Women's World Cup, and the Scots top their group, tied on points with this weekend's opponents.
Massive blow for Celtic
Lawton potentially being out for a period of time will be a massive hit for Celtic. The defender has been amazing this season, and the Hoops can't risk losing her now.
Celtic sit fourth in the Scottish Women's Premier League, six points off Hearts in the top spot. After a horrific 3-0 loss to Rangers last time out, Grant Scott's side return on April 24, when they travel to the capital to take on Hibernian.
The Celts are statistically still in the title race, although things may look dire. We are going to need to be in perfect form if we want to have a chance of winning the trophy, but time is running out to find it.
If she is going to be out for a while, the Hoops will need to deal with that. Maddi Wilde, who is set to return from her wrongful suspension, is the first person we can look to step in, and her performances this campaign have been promising.
If Wilde is given the chance to impress, she could even win herself a permanent transfer to the club in the summer, if she is interested. She is set to return to London City Lionesses at the end of her loan, but it would be hard to find a Celtic fan who wouldn't take her at the club.
She has so much potential that Scott has been trying to play them both at the same time. It has been working out, but with Lawton out, that opens up a spot for another player as well.
With Celtic already struggling, losing her isn't going to be good. She often offers goals and assists, and losing that at this point in the season will be a massive blow. We'll need to see how Scott will handle the absence, but fingers crossed that things go as well as they can.
We wish Lawton a speedy recovery.
