Celtic Women continue their battle for the title in the Scottish Women's Premier League this Sunday as they take on Partick Thistle away from home.
After two draws to start their post-split games, Grant Scott's side will be eager for a victory to get them back on track. Now sitting seven points off the title, things aren't looking great for the Celts, but in football, anything can happen. With that being said, it's clear that this is the last chance for three points before essentially ruling the Hoops out of the title race.
Partick Thistle barely made the top six but did in the end, sitting on 17 points, miles away from Hibernian's 36 points in fifth. They have started their post-split off with two big losses, losing 4-0 to Glasgow City and 4-1 to Hearts. They have some good players in their squad though, so they are not to be underestimated.
Predicted Celtic XI for Partick Thistle away
Lisa Rodgers is likely to start, as we won't want to take any risks at this point. Rotation may be an option though, so we will have to wait and see.
Kelly Clark and Claire Walsh will start. Celtic don't really have any other options at the back apart from young player Darra Dawson, so it's unlikely there will be a change in this area of the park.
Maddi Wilde could start at right back, with Tara O'Hanlon on the other side. Both players have been class since joining up with the Hoops, and it would be great to see them get their place in the team.
Lisa Robertson and Evie Rabjohn could start in the midfield. It would be great to see Rabjohn get a chance, especially as this is the best chance we'll have to rotate.
On the wing, of course, we haven't forgotten about Emma Lawton. Seeing her playing higher up the pitch would be welcome, as she can offer a lot in that regard while still tracking back to defend.
Maria McAneny should start on the other side. She played last time out, and although she didn't get a goal, she looked good.
In the centre attacking role, Amy Gallacher should start.
Up front, Saoirse Noonan deserves to start. Poppy Pritchard played last time out, and although she looked good, Noonan did get a goal. You can't bench a goalscorer (or maybe you can).
Rodgers (GK)
Wilde (RB), Clark (CB), Walsh (CB), O'Hanlon (LB)
Robertson (CM), Rabjohn (CM)
Lawton (RW), Gallacher (CAM), McAneny (LW)
Noonan (ST)
How could the match go?
Celtic will hopefully get the three points in this one after failing to do so twice before. If we want to have any chance at that SWPL title, a win is necessary.
Considering Thistle's other results, our prediction is Partick Thistle 0 - 3 Celtic.
