It is safe to say that Celtic need to bring in a new manager at the end of the season. There were calls for a change from some of the fans as early as last year but it was in February that Neil Lennon stepped down from his role, leaving John Kennedy in interim charge of the team.
Things have not changed drastically since then though. The results and performances have been pretty similar under the interim manager as well, and they are set to finish the season without a trophy, a rare instance for the club in recent years.
At this point of time, Eddie Howe looks like the man who will be the next manager of the Hoops. An appointment appears to be near. And if that is indeed the case, it should be seen as a major coup on the end of the club.
Howe has everything that you would want in a Celtic manager. His sides are known to play attacking football. And he has already shown in the past that he can thrive even when working under a tight budget. But he is no magician, and the fans should not expect things to be completely different immediately even if he arrives.

Next season will be a transitional one for Celtic
Next season promises to be a transitional one for the Hoops. A number of the first-team stars are expected to leave and many new faces will arrive as well.
Naturally, these new players will take some time to adjust to Parkhead and Scottish football. And the same can be said about the manager as well. It is also worth mentioning that there will be multiple changes behind the scenes as well.
While Howe has managed at a top level in the past, he has never managed at a club where he is expected to win almost every game. And if he does indeed end up at Parkhead, it will be interesting to see how he makes that adjustment.
