Celtic and Rangers are dueling in another off-pitch battle. This time, it’s for a goal-a-game striker in Reise Allassani.

Allassani has been very impressive this season with Dulwich Hamlet. The former Crystal Palace youngster has scored 17 goals in 16 games for the Bostik League side. The 22-year-old also played some football with the England U-17 side, making 7 appearances and scoring 2 goals.

It’s believed that both Celtic and Rangers are in for the London native. The Rangers administration is all out of sorts at the moment, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping them from going after some young talent.

It’s a bit confusing to find out how much Allassani could move for. The England national has always transferred from team-to-team for free, despite his undisclosed contract information.

It might not be that expensive, considering that Norwich City, Reading and Barnsley are all after the in-form attacker; all of which do not have a massive budget. Allassani has loads of potential that looks to not be noticed by many clubs; making the bidding war for Celtic that much easier.

More from The Celtic Bhoys

Allassani almost made a move to another English Championship side, while a plethora of other scouts have been keeping tabs on the young striker. The competition isn’t just between Rangers and the Bhoys, despite them coming in with the bigger pockets. Here’s what Football Insider had to say:

"Allassani was close to joining Sheffield Wednesday following his release in 2016 only for a serious knee injury to halt the deal, but he has got his career back on track at Dulwich Hamlet.Dulwich Hamlet have received a number of enquiries for Allassani’s suitors this month and they are unlikely to stand in the player’s way to make the move back into a higher league."

It wouldn’t be a bad addition for Celtic if they were to sign Allassani. The likeliness of a move now looks minimal as the striker recently joined Dulwich Hamlet. However, it doesn’t mean that Celtic can’t keep tabs on him and try to bring in the attacker over the summer.

Should Celtic try to sign Allassani now, or wait until the summer? Is the competition too stiff for the striker for the Celts to wait? Let us know in the comments below.
