Celtic have progressed through the Scottish Premiership under Brendan Rodgers. The Hoops won their 69th consecutive domestic win under Rodgers, adding to the dynasty of the Celts.

Where Celtic seem to struggle, however, is in European competition. The Celts had a quick “hi” and “bye” in the recent Champions League Group Stage. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich thrashed Celtic as the Bhoys quickly vanished back down to the Europa League.

Fans all remember when PSG came into Paradise and spanked Celtic 7-1. The only goal came from none other than Moussa Dembele, who might find his way out sooner rather than later.

All of these factors have seemed to come together to spin the rumor mill faster. The media suggests that Celtic are in on a new striker, particularly the services of Astana attacker Patrick Twumasi.

The Hoops are deciding to ignore their depleted defense at the moment and go after one of the world’s most in-form players. Twumasi has 44 goals in 123 games with the Kazakhstan side, including a goal against the Hoops in the Champions League Playoffs.

More from The Celtic Bhoys

The 23-year-old has been with Astana for years now, but recent reports suggest that he’s not that happy with the team. According to HITC, Twumasi went to Facebook to lash out on some of his teammates after a victory.

"“Despite all my ankle injury, I was able to help the team and give one assist and one goal. For my wife and my love(ly) fans who came from long way to support us. We could have won this game easy if not some selfish play from some players.”"

The attack for Celtic has been a little confusing all season long. The Bhoys still dominate in Scotland, but as mentioned before, goals don’t happen for Celtic in European competition. Plus, Leigh Griffiths has been seeing a lot of the bench as of late which is a bit unusual considering the talent he contains.

It’s still looking like the Celts are a bit undecided about where to put their money in January, despite being linked to several players. HITC goes on to suggest that one of Celtic’s young loan acquisitions could decide if Twumasi will be wearing a Celtic kit anytime soon.

"Celtic may simply not have been interested in the Ghanaian forward to begin with, but if Rodgers has changed his mind ahead of the January transfer window, it may well be down to Odsonne Edouard‘s form."

Regardless, it’s looking like it’s going to be a crazy window for Celtic in the coming month. The defense is still a big question mark for Rodgers. It will be interesting to see who the board decides to put money into.
