With the Scottish Premiership title race already over, there is nothing much really riding on the result of the final Glasgow Derby of the season when you consider the bigger picture. That being said, whenever Celtic and the Rangers take to the pitch, it is an important game, no matter what the points table looks like. And that importance has only been magnified for Brendan Rodgers' side, as they have lost their previous two meetings against the opposition.

Rodgers had lost only one Glasgow Derby until 2025. Just this year, he has lost two of them, tripling that tally in a matter of months. The Northern Irishman must be keen to limit this losing streak to two.

The Scottish FA have announced the officials for the game at Ibrox at the weekend. Nick Walsh has been appointed as the referee on the day. Frank Connor and Dougie Potter are going to be the two assistant refs. Andrew Dallas will be on VAR duty and Andrew McWilliam will be assisting him on the monitor.

Unfortunately, fans always keep an eye out on the referee appointments when it comes to these days. Let's see what the mood is in both camps following the confirmation of this news.

No matter who the referee is on the day, it is largely up to the Celtic player to go out and get a result. Last time they visited Ibrox, it ended in a 3-0 defeat for them despite the Rangers' struggles under the management of Philippe Clement.

On the other hand, at Parkhead, Celtic came back from two goals behind only to lose 3-2. So, they have been nowhere near the mark in recent derby outings.

Hopefully, we will see a much better performance this weekend. Celtic need to be better going forward but at the same time, they cannot continue leaking goals at the back if they want to win.
