At the weekend, the Rangers saw Celtic win the Premiership title for the fourth-straight time. It was also the Hoops' 55th league crown. It is safe to say that Ibrox fans won't be happy and will be hoping for a summer of change, especially with a takeover by the San Francisco 49ers on the horizon. One of their first changes could be in the dugout.
Barry Ferguson was named Rangers' interim manager after Philippe Clement was sacked. And to be honest, he has done a better job than expected, considering he had never managed a top-flight club before this.
Ferguson ended the Rangers' nearly five-year run of not winning at Celtic Park. He was also able to guide them past Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce side in the Europa League. But overall, he has not done enough and it is very likely that he will be shown the exit door at the end of the season.
Who will be replacing Ferguson in the Ibrox hot seat though, as they aim to close down the gap with Celtic? For a long time, Steven Gerrard was viewed as the favourite. But now, a new name has emerged as the frontrunner.
New Rangers' next manager favourite named after Celtic win league
Marco Rose has emerged as the new favourite for the Ibrox job. He is without a job at the moment as he was sacked by RB Leipzig last month.
Rose has had an extensive career managing in the Bundesliga. He has had stints at Borussia Monchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. Other than that, he has also managed RB Salzburg and was linked with the Celtic job at one point, earlier in his career.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Rose. Would he be open to taking the Rangers job? It has certainly proven to be difficult for many before him. The likes of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Mick Beale and Clement all arrived with big reputations but were not able to deliver success in Glasgow, up against the Celtic winning machine.
