Over the last few days, all the talk around Celtic has been about potential incomings. They are believed to be on the verge of signing Benjamin Nygren from FC Nordsjaelland. Deals for Isaac English and Callum Osmand are also believed to be close. And it has emerged that they are also working on an unexpected move for Japanese centre-back Hayato Inamura.
We have rarely seen this much urgency from Celtic before the opening of the transfer window. This will raise the expectations of the supporters this summer.
On the other hand, one cannot forget though that there are plenty of highly-rated Celtic players who could be on the move this summer. One of them is Nicolas Kuhn, who is coming off the best season of his career, although he did struggle in the second half of the campaign.
Despite that, Kuhn did enough to catch the eye of some of Europe's top clubs. Scoring against teams like Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, two of his former clubs, will do that. Now, it looks like a blockbuster bid is being prepared to secure the German winger's signature from Celtic.
RB Leipzig readying £15 million bid for Celtic player
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Kuhn is a £15 million summer transfer target for RB Leipzig. The Bundesliga club are weighing up a bid for the Celtic superstar.
It was in January of 2024 that Celtic signed Kuhn from Rapid Vienna for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £3 million. So, that kind of a figure would be five times the investment that was made to bring the winger to Parkhead.
That being said, one could argue that Celtic should be able to bring in a higher fee for Kuhn. After all, he was being touted as Scottish football's first £30 million player before his downturn in form in the second half of the 24/25 season.
Let's see how this transfer saga plays out from here. Will Celtic be ready to part ways with Kuhn if a £15 million offer did come in from RB Leipzig? And is that the reason why they are being linked with so many wingers? Despite a move for Nygren being close, it has been suggested that the Hoops still want Michel-Ange Balikwisha as well.
