Celtic are moving fast this summer. We have not seen this kind of urgency from them in the transfer market since Ange Postecoglou left the club in 2023. Kieran Tierney's announcement has already been announced while Ross Doohan is also believed to have signed a pre-contract. The signings of Callum Osmand and Isaac English are said to be on the verge of completion. And now, a reliable journalist has claimed that another deal is close to being agreed.
Going into the summer, we always knew that Celtic needed to strengthen up front. Now, they are set to someone who can play as a winger, a number 10 and a striker.
As reported by Mark Hendry, Celtic are close to agreeing a fee with FC Nordsjaelland for Benjamin Nygren. It is understood to be only a matter of time and the Hoops could end up paying around £2 million to sign the Swedish international.
Of course, it is important to know what role Celtic want to play Nygren in before guessing what type of players they will try to sign next. But for now, it looks like they are close to completing another deal.
Celtic are close to agreeing another transfer deal
Nygren is one of the best players that we have seen being linked with Celtic in recent times. He is a Swedish international and is proven at the club level as well.
One can only hope that this is the type of pedigree that the club continue to search in this transfer window. They certainly should not be going for all projects.
The club have been linked with a few other signings already as well. If things go well, they might look towards the J-League once again, which would be another throwback to the Postecoglou era, when things worked so well.
