Celtic have confirmed that Odin Thiago Holm has departed the club on another loan deal that will last until December. His previous move to Los Angeles FC ended in December, with the 22-year-old only managing five senior appearances for the side before he picked up an injury.

Now, he returns to his former club Valerenga, from whom the Hoops bought him for £2.3 million in the summer of 2023. He was Brendan Rodgers' first signing during his second Celtic stint, but he didn't manage to reach the heights that a lot were expecting from him.

He joins the Norwegian side as their season is just kicking off. He will take the number 15 shirt and hopes will be high that he can finally find his feet. Maybe there is still something for Holm at Parkhead, but the player may choose to pursue a permanent move when his loan ends in December.

Holm is hopeful of his career getting back on track, saying: "The last couple of years have been tough, and there have been a lot of things that have been out of my control, but I know the people here and they know me and my body.

"I felt it was very right to come back here and try to get a re-start on my career again."

Could Holm get a chance under the next manager?

With Celtic set to appoint a new manager in the summer, Holm could be given a chance at Parkhead. If he impresses on his loan and wants another shot at becoming the player we all wanted him to be, then it could happen.

The player was once a bright prospect; he was named in The Guardian's Next Generation 2020 list, featuring alongside players like Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz, who have both become brilliant players.

If he can recapture his form and figure out what he needs to do to hit the ground running, should he return to Celtic, then maybe he can win his place in the starting 11.

We can expect that the Hoops will look to bring in a new midfielder in the summer transfer window, with scouts already being sent out to keep an eye on players of interest. 20-year-old Jens Hjerto-Dahl is one that both Celtic and Rangers want to bring to Glasgow, so hopefully, the Parkhead side will be able to get it over the line.

One thing is for sure - midfield is a priority position for the next manager. We have good options, but we certainly need more. Hopefully, Holm can play a part if he starts to find his form.
