Celtic are set for a transfer battle as they look to bring midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl to the club in the summer. Rangers were incredibly interested in the player in January, but now, the Celts will take them on.

As reported by Sport Witness, Bologna, Celtic, Rangers and Besiktas are all interested in his signature. Clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga are also keen on signing him, but as of now, it remains as just interest.

Currently playing for Tromso, the midfielder has impressed with his technical and physical skills. He is 6'4", so he brings an aerial presence to the middle of the park, and at the age of 20, he has already bagged the Eliteserien Young Player of the Month award three times.

He is contracted to his club until 2029, so if the Scottish outfits want him, they will have to pay up. He could demand a fee of around €7 million, which Celtic can afford, but whether they will pay up is a different question.

Who else is on Celtic's radar?

Although Hjerto-Dahl is a player who Celtic will be keen to bring to the club, it certainly isn't the only one that they are keeping their eye on.

Recently, scouts have been sent out to keep tabs on Sheffield United striker Tyrese Campbell. He has helped the Blades out this season and has made 34 appearances for the side, bagging six goals. Celtic are desperately in need of a new striker, so he could be one of the first people contacted.

Legendary defender Andy Robertson has also been the subject of Celtic interest, with his contract set to expire at Liverpool at the end of the season. Getting such a good player on a free transfer would be amazing, but Robertson has made it clear that no decision has been reached with any club yet.

Looking closer to home, Motherwell star Elijah Just is also a player the Hoops are keen on. He has been brilliant under Jens Berthel Askou, and with the manager on the shortlist to be the next manager at Parkhead, Just could continue his fine form under the same head coach.

Celtic's midfield should be a priority

Some supporters think that one of the areas where Celtic have been overrun on occasion this season is in the midfield. With Benjamin Nygren pushing higher up the pitch to get the goal output that he has managed, it has sometimes left the Celts weak.

Hjerto-Dahl would make a real difference, so if Celtic have to go head-to-head with the Gers for his signature, then so be it.
