Celtic boss Martin O'Neill believes he and the club have fixed a major issue from last season. The Bhoys thrashed Dundee United 4-0 in the Premier Sports Cup on Saturday to make it three straight wins to start the season.
Attention now turns to Wednesday's Champions League qualifying play-off first leg with Austrian champions LASK, and Celtic are desperate to progress having stumbled at this stage last season.
But the squad has changed since then, and Celtic are a more dangerous prospect, at least when it comes to their attack.
Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran have added a dangerous element to the attack, with the Bhoys having struggled at the top end of the pitch last season, with two disappointing loan strikers failing to deliver.
O'Neill on Celtic fixing their biggest issue
Speaking to Celtic's newfound threat up top, O'Neill has said: "It does give you encouragement, yeah. I think the centre-forward, he's linked up well, he obviously wants to get into the penalty area, but he's a very fine centre-forward."
"He'll thrive on goals like any centre-forward, but overall, yeah, that's something that I felt we missed last season. He's strong, and his hold-up play, he wants to improve that and I think he's doing fine.
"I think we've got goalscorers in the side. That was always a concern last season. We conjured goals, and we won big games. But Daizen (Maeda) almost single-handedly took it upon himself to score the goals. Now I think that there are goals from different areas."
O'Neill on LASK task
Celtic know they have a big task ahead against LASK, who will certainly believe in their chances of reaching the league phase. "There is a really big task ahead. LASK are a very fine side. They're very, very strong," O'Neill said.
"It would be great if some of the lads who have come in now had a bit more practice with the team in that sense, but it is what it is. We have to be ready regardless.
"It is a big week for us. We've got the game on Wednesday and then the second match the following Tuesday. They are big games in every aspect. Champions League qualification matches, everything to go for. Prestige, finance, all that type of stuff. We're trying to be as ready as we possibly can."
Celtic have managed to get Mika Baur and Haissem Hassan into the club in time for those qualifiers, but they have lost Arne Engels, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain won't be available through suspension.
