Celtic fans are hoping that the club back Brendan Rodgers in this summer transfer window. This is the last year of the Northern Irishman's contract and it is important to show him that he can achieve his targets, both domestic and European, while remaining at Parkhead. If they don't, nobody can be blamed if the manager decides to leave in 2026.
Backing Rodgers does not just mean making signings this summer. It will also be making sure that the club keep their core squad together.
Nicolas Kuhn is someone who is part of that core, even though his performance levels dipped in the second half of last season. He was able to show his quality though and at his best, he is one of the club'a elite performers.
Of course, those performances caught the eye of clubs around Europe as well. In fact, there have been rumours that Brentford have placed Kuhn as their number one target, if they end up needing to replace Bryan Mbeumo this summer, with clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur being linked with him.
Fabrizio Romano confirms news that will worry Celtic
There is some bad news for Celtic with regards to Mbeumo. He seems intent on a move to Manchester United. Fabrizio Romano wrote in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter:
"Mbeumo is waiting for Man United as a priority. Thomas Frank is close to Spurs so we will see what happens if he joins; but Mbeumo at the moment is waiting to see what happens with United."
On the other hand, Brentford manager Thomas Frank has emerged as the favourite to become the next Tottenham Hotspur boss. If he does get the job, it is expected that he will ask Spurs to sign Mbeumo.
No matter what the case, it looks like there is a good chance that Mbeumo will leave Brentford in this summer transfer window. In turn, the Bees could end up making a move for Kuhn and if they do, Celtic would have a tough time keeping the German winger at Parkhead.
