The summer transfer window is always a fun time for those who enjoy the business side of the game, with players constantly changing teams and there being no lack of drama playing out in the background. Of course, when it comes to a club the size of Celtic, rumours are part and parcel of life. That has not changed this year either.

We have seen plenty of players being linked with moves away this summer. Some important to Brendan Rodgers' plans, others not so much.

Daizen Maeda, Nicolas Kuhn, Arne Engels and several others are believed to be on the radar of clubs around Europe. Last summer, we saw Matt O'Riley leave to join Brighton & Hove Albion, although Atalanta had made multiple failed offers to sign him before that.

O'Riley's time at Brighton & Hove Albion has not gone according to expectations and he is being linked with a move away just a year down the line from his Celtic exit. AS Roma have been touted as a potential destination. On the other hand, according to the Daily Record, La Gazzetta dello Sport (Europa Calcio) now report that Atalanta are back in for the Danish international.

O'Riley was Celtic's best player in the 23/24 campaign. That saw him being linked with teams like Juventus and Inter Milan, before ending up at Brighton.

On paper, that looked like a great move. But a combination of injuries and lack of chances have meant that his debut campaign has not been much to write home about.

Things can change very quickly in football though. And Brighton are not the type of club that gives up on their players so easily. So, it would come as a major surprise if the midfielder did end up leaving.
