Even though Celtic still have the Scottish Cup to play for, a lot of eyes are already on the summer transfer window. The expectation is that the Hoops will make some solid additions to their squad in order to continue their domestic success and build on their excellent Champions League campaign, which saw them make it to the knockout phase of the competition for the first time in over a decade.

Fans will have their eyes on not just on Celtic but other teams across Europe as well. That is because the transfer market is like a game of dominoes and everything is connected.

Celtic fans will be delighted with the latest news coming out of Liverpool. And it is likely to hand the Hoops a major windfall eventually.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, documents are being prepared for Trent Alexander-Arnold to join Real Madrid on a five-year contract. A verbal agreement has been made. The journalist has given the move his famous 'here we go'.

Trent has been expected to leave Liverpool for quite a while now. And now, that is confirmed. It also means that the Premier League champions will need to bring in a replacement for the starter.

There is a very good chance that that will turn out to be Jeremie Frimpong. Arne Slot is belived to be a fan of the Dutchman and it is believed that the player himself is keen on leaving Bayer Leverkusen this summer, having spent several seasons with the German club.

Frimpong seems like the perfect replacement for Trent. Just like the Liverpool full-back, the former Celtic man is elite going forward. His 50 goal contributions in 132 Bundesliga games as a full-back or wing-back for Bayer Leverkusen are proof of that.

Why does this matter to Celtic? Well, the Hoops hold a sell-on clause in Frimpong's deal. So, they will get a good percentage, believed to be around 30%, of whatever transfer profit Bayer Leverkusen end up making this summer.

They had signed him for a transfer fee said to be in the region of £11.5 million but the release clause is said to be around €40 million. With clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and more believed to be interested, one would imagine that the figure will be met in the summer. That would represent about a €8.25 million windfall for Celtic.
