Jeremie Frimpong is one of the major success stories of Celtic's transfer policy. He was brought in in the summer of 2019 from Manchester City. Back then, he was viewed as a project signing and the hope was that he would eventually develop into a first-team player. It would be safe to say that he over-delivered on those expectations by quite some margin.

Frimpong would end up becoming a starter for Celtic months later and never lost his place in the team, playing a key part in the treble success that season. His time at Glasgow was not a long one though.

He would end up leaving in the 2021 winter transfer window. Bayer Leverkusen signed him for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of €11 million. And this summer, there could be more on the way for Celtic.

Frimpong has been linked with clubs like Liverpool, Man Utd, Barcelona and more in recent times. Thus, a summer exit looks likely. There is believed to be a €40 million release clause in his contract, which is expected to be activated.

How much will Celtic get if he moves? Well, the answer seems to be a pretty significant amount. As reported by the Daily Mail (via 67 Hail Hail), the Hoops negotiated a deal that would see them earn 30 per cent of any profit Bayer Leverkusen made on a transfer involving Frimpong.

So, let's do some simple maths here. Let's say that his release clause is met. In that scenario, Celtic would land a fee in the region of €8.7 million.

That is a significant figure for a club like Celtic for sure. So, there is no doubt that fans will be hoping that Frimpong gets a big move this summer.
