Celtic failed to sign a replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi in the final days of the winter transfer window, as the Japanese forward left to join Rennes. The expectation has been that the Hoops will bring in another striker in the summer. But considering the form that Daizen Maeda has showcased since being moved to a more central role, there have also been suggestions that the Hoops could decide to focus on bringing in another winger instead.
Celtic did strengthen their ranks on the wings in the winter itself, bringing back Jota merely 18 months after he left the club. But that did not stop them from being linked with Sondre Ørjasæter of Sarpsborg.
It remains to be seen if Celtic try to sign another winger in the upcoming summer transfer window. A very interesting option be available as a free agent at that point.
In their list of free agents for Celtic and Rangers to consider this summer, Glasgow World named Krepin Diatta. The AS Monaco player is out of contract in the summer.

Diatta has made more than 100 appearances during his time at AS Monaco. But he has not gotten a ton of game time this season.
It remains to be seen what the future holds. But it does look like the 26-year-old Senegal international is set to become a free agent. If that does end up happening, it could open up a window of opportunity for Celtic to swoop in and sign a versatile and experienced player like him without having to spend a transfer fee.
Incidentally, Sarpsborg is a club that Diatta has played for as well. Other than that, he also had a spell at Club Brugge.
Diatta also has plenty of experience at the international level as well. He has made 42 appearances for the Senegal national team.
