Celtic are at Parkhead tonight to take on Livingston in the Scottish Premiership. With the Hoops nine points off the top spot, with two games in hand, a win is essential if they want to stay in the title race.

The visitors were promoted to the top flight for this season and have only won one game, drawing eight and losing 16. Their only victory came against Falkirk at the start of the campaign, and the Hoops should be able to brush Livingston aside.

Martin O'Neill's side have been in good form recently, and fans will be hoping for the players to put on a show this evening.

Predicted Celtic XI for Livingston at home

It's safe to say that Kasper Schmeichel will take his place back between the sticks. He missed out on the matchday squad against Dundee in the Scottish Cup because he had pain in his shoulder, but O'Neill confirmed that he has gotten an injection to deal with that.

At the back, Auston Trusty and Liam Scales will continue in the centre-back positions. They have been a good pair throughout this season after the unfortunate loss of Cameron Carter-Vickers through injury, and you should expect to see them play tonight.

Julian Aurajo is in brilliant form and will no doubt be starting on the right. Kieran Tierney took a hard hit to the head that forced him off against Dundee, but O'Neill confirmed that he is alright and that he wants to be selected. With that being said, I could see the manager favouring Marcelo Saracchi for this one.

The midfield is unlikely to change from the usual. Captain Callum McGregor will retain his spot, with Arne Engels coming back into the side after being rested at the weekend. Benjamin Nygren is destined to continue playing, considering his fantastic goal-scoring form, so the Swede will complete the midfield three.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is still not fit enough to start in the centre of the park, but O'Neill, in his latest press conference, didn't rule out the possibility of the player making an appearance against Livingston. There is a chance we could see the Ox on the bench.

In attack, Sebastian Tounekti must start. He proved why he deserves to after coming off the bench against Dundee, assisting Junior Adamu's goal and scoring to win the tie. He is a fantastic option and needs to be utilised.

Yang will likely get the nod tonight on the right, although O'Neill could give Joel Mvuka another run out. Some supporters weren't impressed by his debut performance, but the player will be keen to prove himself. Against bottom-of-the-table Livingston could be the perfect chance for that.

Up front, Tomas Cvancara will probably still be given the nod. Although supporters would love to see more of Adamu after his 97th-minute equaliser to rescue the game, Cvancara's brilliant league form is too good to look over. Expect to see Adamu in some form tonight though, whether starting or off the bench.

How could the match go?

Celtic should put in a big performance against Livingston. There could be many goals in this one, but Marvin Bartley's side will be eager to cause an upset. They won't want to let the Hoops make a fool of them, so it could also be quite tight.

With that being said, my score prediction is Celtic 2 - 0 Livingston.
