Celtic have multiple players injured at the moment, including key first-team players that we have been struggling without throughout the season.

With Hearts dropping points and Celtic having the chance to reduce the gap to three points with a win against Aberdeen, who do the Hoops have on their injury list that will be unable to support their title charge?

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Notably, Cameron Carter-Vickers has been out all season with an injury. The defender has been out of action for months, and Celtic have struggled without him at times. Defensive pairings have often changed throughout the campaign, with Liam Scales and Austin Trusty being the two often seen at the back.

There is not yet a confirmed return date for the centre-back, but we do know that he will not be returning this season. The next time we see him on the pitch will be under a brand new manager, in search of another Scottish Premiership title in 2026/27.

Alistair Johnston

Alistair Johnston was a big hit to the team when he was injured 23 minutes into Celtic's game against Sturm Graz in the Europa League. It was revealed that he had suffered a hamstring injury, and the fullback has since undergone surgery to correct the issue.

Johnston has admitted that his time out has been incredibly difficult, but he is determined to help Celtic out with their title push. The Canadian will return sometime in March, and he is hopeful of being able to make the World Cup in his home country later this year.

Marcelo Saracchi

Marcelo Saracchi was last seen in Martin O'Neill's last Celtic game, and didn't play a single game during Wilfried Nancy's tenure at the club. The player pulled his hamstring in the Hoops' 1-0 victory over Dundee in December and has been fighting his way back into the squad.

Since his injury, Kieran Tierney has been the only left-back available, and thankfully, he has been fully fit. Saracchi looks set to return soon, with him back training on grass, which will take a bit of weight off Tierney's shoulders.

Jota

During Celtic's 5-0 win over Dundee United last season, Jota suffered a cruciate ligament injury. Manager at the time, Brendan Rodgers, revealed that he was going to be out for six to nine months, and all this time later, we have yet to see Jota pull back on the Hoops.

It was hoped that Jota could return at the end of this season, but last month, O'Neill told the media that Jota had to undergo further surgery and would be out for the rest of the campaign.

O'Neill says he would've loved to work with the winger, but now sadly won't get the chance. He will be a great option for the next permanent Celtic manager though.

Callum Osmand

Callum Osmand suffered a hamstring injury at a terrible time, as it seemed as though the striker was about to make himself known at Celtic after scoring his first senior goal in a 3-1 victory over Rangers at Hampden.

He was forced off during Celtic's Europa League defeat to FC Midtjylland earlier in the season and had to get surgery for the injury. He underwent post-surgery treatment and was able to fully participate by early December, meaning a return could potentially be on the cards before the end of the season.

Celtic will not be rushing Osamnd back. The last thing they'll want is for the young player to suffer another setback, so O'Neill will bide his time before working him back into training.
