Tomáš Čvančara opened his account for Celtic in their match against Falkirk, scoring the opener at Celtic Park. It was a brilliant statement for the Czech striker in front of the Hoops support.
As the ball was played out to Kieran Tierney playing high up the pitch, Čvančara did well to get himself central. When the ball was swung in, the forward moved past two defenders to win the header. He headed into the bottom corner, and a hit off the post helped it to the back of the net.
Supporters are loving the impact that Čvančara has had since joining Martin O'Neill's side on loan from Germany. He has slotted perfectly into the team in the two matches he has featured in, and although he went goalless on his debut, fans thought he established himself well in Scotland, especially with his assist.
Now that he's off the mark, there's sure to be exciting things to come for the Czech.
Potential Europa League impact
With the Europa League play-off games coming up against Stuttgart, Čvančara is bound to make an impact when we register him for the squad. He is yet to play European football with the Celts this season, as it was impossible to register new players for the remainder of the League Phase.
Čvančara has four domestic fixtures to further cement his place in the starting line-up, and if O'Neill can get the wingers he wants, the striker will surely thrive.
Competition for striker
Just because he has impressed in his opening matches though doesn't mean he's without competition for his place.
Celtic are set to bring 24-year-old frontman Junior Adamu to the club on loan. His arrival seems imminent after he was omitted from Freiburg's matchday squad.
At the club, our striking options consist of Kelechi Iheanacho, Johnny Kenny and the injured Callum Osmand. Daizen Maeda can also slot in up front. With none really impressing the manager or the fans this season, the addition of another striker to challenge Čvančara will certainly be welcome.
