Celtic appear to be putting their transfer plans in place for the summer. One area where the Hoops seem to be looking to strengthen is on the flanks. The club have already been linked with Sondre Orjeseater of Sarpsborg 08 and Michel-Ange Balikwisha of Royal Antwerp in recent times. And now, it looks like a Dutch youth international is in their sights as well.
Celtic have some good options on the wings right now. But Nicolas Kuhn has been linked with a move away, something that could very well materialise in the summer.
As a result, Celtic might need to strengthen in that area of the pitch. A player from the English Championship has caught their sight. Considering his style of play and the Stoke City connection, it is not hard to compare him with Xhardan Shaqiri.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are eyeing Stoke City winger Million Manhoef. He could be transferred this summer as Stoke City seek a decent fee for him.
Celtic lining up summer signing of Dutch winger
The Stoke City winger is the son of former MMA world champion, Melvin Manhoef. For a long time, it had looked like he was going to follow in his father's footsteps but ultimately, he ended up choosing football.
It has certainly worked out quite well for Manhoef so far. He has caught the eye with his pace and trickery in the Championship this season. He is deceptively strong for his size too, with the capability to unlock a defence with his passing or find the back of the net. As we said, there are aspects to his game that remind you of Shaqiri.
Incidentally, Manhoef was wanted by the Rangers back when he was at Vitesse. A move to Ibrox did not happen and it looks like he could soon find himself playing his football on the other side of Glasgow.
