Greg Taylor's excellent performance against Kilmarnock has led to the fans wanting Celtic to hand him an extension. One would imagine that a lot of that is down to Jeffrey Schlupp's downturn in form in recent weeks, after looking brilliant early on in his loan run at Parkhead. But there is a genuine possibility that the Hoops might be without both come next season.
Taylor's contract is set to run out in the summer and while Brendan Rodgers seems keen for him to stay, the left-back and the club have not been able to reach an agreement over a new deal yet. On the other hand, Schlupp is only here on loan until the end of the campaign.
One signing that Celtic will be making in the summer is that of Kieran Tierney. He has already agreed a pre-contract with the Hoops and will be arriving when his deal at Arsenal expires.
But considering Tierney's injury history, Celtic need to have a backup option available. A Brazilian left-back from PSV might be a great answer to their problem, especially with his contract set to run out as well.
Celtic tipped to sign €12m Brazilian player for free
Mauro Junior has made 33 appearances for PSV this season. But his contract runs out at the end of the campaign and no extension has been agreed yet.
In their list of free agents that Celtic and Rangers could sign this summer, Glasgow World have included Mauro Junior. He has a valuation of €12 million.
PSV are believed to be keen to hand him a new deal though and Mauro Junior has not completely closed the door on staying on with the club either. So, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the versatile Brazilian player, who can play all over the pitch.
