It was a bad day at the office for everybody at Celtic at the weekend as they went to McDiarmid Park to take on bottom-placed St Johnstone and lost. It was a terrible result, no matter which way you look at it. Yes, the lead over the Rangers means that it should not have any effect on the title race but even then, there are some standards that need to be upheld every time you pull on the green-and-white jersey. That was not the case this time around.

Adam Idah was brought on as a substitute on the day. The Irishman has struggled to get into the starting XI lately, thanks to the incredible form that Daizen Maeda has shown in front of goal. The Japanese forward already has 30 goals to his name this season and is thriving in a more central role.

Maeda looked off-colour against St Johnstone though. He was taken off and it was the perfect chance for Idah to come in and make his presence felt.

Unfortunately, he was not able to do that. And it looks like during one moment during the game, he got furious with one of his teammates.

At one point, Idah had positioned himself in front of goal, hoping to be set up for a tap-in. Instead, Yang Hyun-jun ended up cutting the ball back, which did not make the Irish striker happy.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Chris Sutton said while describing the situation:

"Adam Idah is furious; he is having words with Yang.

“But, what a save from Fisher. The take from McCowan is brilliant. He must have thought that he had scored. What a performance from the St Johnstone goalkeeper."

It is safe to say that the Celtic players were not at their best on the day, and the defeat at the hands of St Johnstone should serve as a wake-up call for a team that is still in contention to win a treble. They will face Simo Valakari's side again later this month, this time in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

This defeat at McDiarmid Park is not going to change the overall picture of Celtic's season, but the same cannot be said about that upcoming game against St Johnstone. There is a world of difference between winning a double and a treble, especially in Scotland. The Hoops cannot afford to have another bad day at the office.
