Liam Scales was one of several players that Celtic signed over the course of the summer transfer window. And it is safe to say that he is one of the most interesting additions that the Hoops made.
Scales was one of the standout performers in League of Ireland and had made a name for himself for the consistency that he had shown while playing for Shamrock Rovers. He is the type of player who will put in a solid performance everyday.
Of course, there will be a question about whether he can make the jump but many believe that the 23-year-old is ready to not only feature for the Hoops but become a first-team regular as well. Whether that is the case, only time will tell.
There has been some confusion about the role he could end up playing for this team, as Scales is very versatile and capable of playing in the heart of defence as well as a left-back or a left-wing back. But the club’s Europa League squad might possibly hint at the role he is set to play for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Scales could be set to play at left-back for Celtic
As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic’s Europa League squad has been revealed. And looking at it does give an indication of the direction that this team is headed in.
One of the players missing from the squad is Boli Bolingoli, who has not yet featured for the club this season. As a result, it might very well be Scales who is competing for the left-back spot with Greg Taylor moving forward.
It must be pointed out that Adam Montgomery has featured at left-back as well while Josip Juranovic played in the position in the recent Glasgow Derby against the Rangers at Ibrox but would be expected to go back to his more natural right-back position in the future.
