It is safe to say that there have been quite a few changes at Celtic over the course of the summer with a number of players both arriving and leaving. It will be interesting to see how the season turns out for the Hoops, with results being mixed till now.

Ange Postecoglou’s side had a slow start to the campaign and were knocked out from the UEFA Champions League qualifiers by FC Midtjylland. They also lost the first game of their Premiership season at the hands of Hearts.

Then they found some form and went on a six-game winning streak, when they outscored their opponents 24 to 4. But a couple of defeats on the trot, including one at the hands of the Rangers in the Premiership mean that the club’s results have been mixed till now although there is a lot of cause for enthusiasm.

Amidst all this, one man who ended up departing the club on a season-long loan to join Dundee FC is Leigh Griffiths. And Chris Sutton believes that the striker’s time at the club is over. He wrote in his column in the Daily Record:

"One thing I’m more sure about is that Leigh Griffiths’ time at the club has come to an end.I know he said he still thinks he has a future at Celtic but with a move to Dundee and his contract up in the summer, I just can’t see it."

Has Griffiths’ time at Celtic come to an end?

It was just earlier this summer that Griffiths had extended his contract with the club by another year as it looked like he was set to play a part in Postecoglou’s side this season. Things did not quite turn out that way though and he has already departed the club on a season-long loan.

As a result, it is definitely hard to see a future for him at Parkhead considering his contract is set to run out next summer.

At the top of his game, he is a brilliant goalscorer though. Thus, if Griffiths can rediscover his form during his time at Dundee and find the back of the net consistently, then there might be a chance that the Hoops consider giving him another contract extension in the future.
