Celtic enjoyed a very good summer transfer window all things considered. Heading into it, the club would have known that they needed a major squad overhaul coming off of a 2020/21 campaign when they finished 25 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership and with a number of first-team players looking set to depart Parkhead.
The Hoops brought in twelve new players this summer overall, with ten arriving on permanent basis while two are on loan but both those deals have a respective option to buy included in them.
One move that appeared to be a bit of a surprise was that of Cameron Carter-Vickers. The club had been linked with the defender for months but it did not look like a move was going to take place. An opportunity opened up late though and the Hoops appeared to make the most of it.
The move was announced just minutes before the transfer window slammed shut with Carter-Vickers arriving on a season-long loan with an option to buy. And as reported by Football Insider, he turned down a deadline day move from Tottenham Hotspur to Torino.

Carter-Vickers can be a great signing for Celtic
Defence has been a worry for the Hoops for a while now. On the other hand, Carter-Vickers appears to be a different kind of option for Postecoglou at the back. While he is the type of defender who can do a bit of everything, it is on the defensive side of things that he truly shines.
He is good in the air, strong in the tackle, confident with the ball at his feet and is expected to provide some solidity at the back for the Hoops.
As a result, he might just be the kind of player that Postecoglou needs in his squad at this point of time. While he did not play a lot of football for Tottenham Hotspur, he has some solid experience under his belt having spent time on loan at multiple clubs in the Championship .
