Celtic enjoyed a solid summer transfer window considering the magnitude of the squad rebuild that they were facing after finishing 25 points behind the Rangers last season. Ultimately, the club managed to bring in twelve new signings, with ten arriving on permanent deals while two will be on loan although both of those deals have an option to buy respectively.
One man who the club had been linked with for months is Cameron Carter-Vickers. But it looked like a move was not on the cards.
Things took a massive twist late though and the Hoops announced that they had signed the United States international on a season-long loan with an option to buy just minutes before the transfer window slam shut.
It looks like Joe Hart had a role to play in Carter-Vickers’ decision to move to Parkhead. While speaking with Celtic’s official website, the defender said:
"“As soon as I heard it was Celtic, it was something I wanted to do. It’s a massive club with a massive fanbase and obviously European football as well, it should be good.“I spoke to Joe Hart before I came up here and he said the atmosphere is unbelievable, he said it’s one of the best atmospheres he’s ever seen, so I’m definitely looking forward to it.”"

Carter-Vickers could be a very important signing for Celtic
Defence has been an area of worry for the Hoops for quite a while now. While they have looked brilliant at times while going forward, the same cannot be said about things at the back.
Thus, the addition of someone like Carter-Vickers can prove to be very important. He is the type of defender that can do everything but it is the defensive solidity that he provides that he is best known for. The Hoops can certainly do with a player like that at this point of time.
Coming through the youth ranks, it was believed that he could be a fixture in the Tottenham Hotspur first-team for years to come. Things did not turn out that way though and he made very few appearances for the club over the years. He did spend several seasons on loan in the English Championship with different clubs though and thus has some solid experience under his belt. Carter-Vickers has also represented the United States national team on quite a few occasions.
