It is safe to say that Kyogo Furuhashi has come in and quickly become a fan favourite at Celtic. The Japanese star’s impact at the club in such a short span of time has been incredible and one would be hoping that he can continue to perform like this throughout the course of the season.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals and provided an assist in 9 appearances for the Hoops till now.

And he had the chance to be a derby hero for the club against the Rangers but his decision making let him down on a couple of occasions on the day. For the first chance, he most probably should have passed when he ended up going for goal himself. And for the second chance, he should have gone for goal when he tried to set up a teammate.

Kyogo has himself admitted though that he is still learning the role of a forward. As reported by The Scottish Sun, he said:

"“I’ve managed to win the trust of my team-mates and the supporters little by little by working hard.“Remember, I was known more of a midfielder when I joined so I am still learning to play as a forward, but I am really enjoying it.”"

He has also confessed that he is happy playing for a manager like Ange Postecoglou:

"“When I was in Japan, I didn’t like playing against Ange Postecoglou’s teams because all his players worked so hard for him. Of course, I couldn’t say that when I was at Vissel Kobe!“I always thought it would be a lot of fun playing for him and it is. I am very happy playing for a manager like him.”"

Kyogo has enjoyed a brilliant start to life at Celtic

It goes without saying that Kyogo has already caught the eye with his displays since joining Celtic this summer. Now, the most important thing will be to keep up these performances and not fade away as the season progresses.

There are expected to be some stumbling blocks early on, especially since he is still learning to play as a forward. But Kyogo has already shown that he has the ability to be a success in Scottish football.

What is most impressive about his style of play is his movement. Even against the Rangers, it was when he moved into the central position that chances opened up for the Hoops. He just has the ability to be in the right place at the right time. Now, he has to make sure that he is making the right decision on most occasions as well.
