Another transfer window has quickly come and gone. And it is safe to say that Celtic have made quite a few moves this summer, having signed ten players on permanent deals while two more arrived on season-long loan deals with the option to buy included in them.

But the Hoops might have more plans for the future moving ahead and could possibly be set to sign a very highly-rated former Rangers player, who departed Ibrox earlier this summer.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Ciaran Dickson has been pictured at Parkhead holding up a Celtic shirt with ‘Dickson 51’ printed on the back of it ahead of a potential move to the club.

It was just in January of this year that Dickson had signed a long-term contract extension with the Rangers and many believed could play a big role in Steven Gerrard’s side in the future.

The former Rangers player looks set to join Celtic

Dickson made his debut for the Rangers last November in a match against Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup. The midfielder then spent some time on loan with Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship. And he has represented Scotland at multiple youth levels as well.

Dickson was one of the most highly-rated youngsters at Ibrox and has been linked with a move to Burnley recently as well. Thus, his release from the Rangers did come as a surprise, considering he had signed a contract extension with them just earlier this year.

The talent has never been in question when it comes to Dickson and it looks like the Hoops could be looking to get the best out of that talent now. Midfield is an area where they appear to be a bit short of options at the moment and as a result, if the club can get a deal over the line, then it would not come as a big surprise if Dickson has a role to play in the senior squad from this season itself.
