Celtic have made quite a few signings over the course of the summer. Most impressive of them has most probably been Kyogo Furuhashi. The Japanese star has come in and quickly found his feet in Scottish football.
But other than him, the Hoops do not appear to have too many options up top who are in form at the moment. Odsonne Edouard has not appeared to be at his best for a while now and continues to be linked with a move away from Parkhead. On the other hand, neither Leigh Griffiths nor Albian Ajeti have impressed in recent times.
As a result, it would not be surprising if the club try to add more options up top before the transfer window closes this Tuesday.
Rumours have suggested that Georgios Giakoumakis is getting close to a Parkhead move. And as reported by The Sunday Mirror [29/08, p66] (via HITC), Celtic are keen to add Troy Deeney to their squad.

Could Celtic make a move for Deeney this summer?
Deeney has enjoyed a fantastic career at Watford but could be on his way out this summer. At this point of time, Birmingham City appear to be the favourites for his signature though.
If the Hoops do end up signing Giakoumakis, it is hard to see them going after Deeney as well, considering both are similar style of strikers.
While 33 years of age, Deeney is still a pretty effective player though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he made 19 appearances for Watford in the Championship last season scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists.
On the other hand, it will be interesting to see what the Hoops do if Edouard does end up departing the club this summer. With the transfer deadline approaching fast, time won’t be on their side if they do decide to try and sign a replacement for the Frenchman.
