It was a very tight Glasgow Derby with neither side getting a lot of chances to score. But as has been the case with this fixture in recent times, the Rangers made their one count while Celtic could not find a way to the back of the net.

As a result, it was the Rangers who walked out with a 1-0 victory on the day despite Steven Gerrard not being in their dugout and their team not being at full strength. And this kind of result just shows that while the Hoops have improved, there is still a lot of work to be done.

One of the biggest takeaways from the game was how little the Hoops managed to create going forward for the majority of the game. And when they had chances, they did not take them. Odsonne Edouard missed a golden opportunity to score in the first-half while Kyogo had two chances late on but his decision making let him down.

As reported by Glasgow Live, Ange Postecoglou has admitted that he should have started Kyogo through the middle against the Rangers. The Japanese star started the game on the left while Edouard was the centre-forward.

Could Kyogo have made a difference for Celtic if he started in the middle?

It is safe to say that Kyogo is not a physical presence in the box and he will rarely score goals with his head. But his movement is excellent and he is very good at being at the right place at the right time.

He almost made a difference in this game as he got two very good chances late on. For the first one, he forced a save out of the goalkeeper when he probably should have squared it to Christie. For the second, he probably should have gone for goal himself when he tried to set a teammate up. Ultimately though, he looked the most likely Celtic player to find the back of the net on the day.

Thus, it will be interesting to see where Postecoglou fields Kyogo moving forward, especially with rumours suggesting that the club could be about to sign Georgios Giakoumakis.
