After a difficult start to the season, Celtic have appeared to turn it around recently. They might have lost the second leg of their Europa League play-off round tie against AZ Alkmaar but before that they had gone on a six game winning streak, where they outscored their opponents 24 to 4.
As a result, the club should be confident going into any game at this point of time. But that does not mean that the squad is perfect.
While the Hoops have looked excellent going forward, defence still remains a worry. And they also have a big decision on their hands regarding the future of Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman is in the final year of his current deal and most would have expected him to depart this summer. But it looks like there is a possibility that he could end up remaining at Parkhead for the season.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have made an offer worth up to £15 million for Edouard. The Frenchman is interested in a move to Selhurst Park but Celtic have been holding out for a bigger transfer fee.

Celtic might be making Edouard transfer mistake
On top of his game, Edouard is a fantastic player. But he has not been at his best for quite a while now. And with him being in the final 12 months of his contract, it might make sense for the club to let him leave.
At this point of time, it feels unlikely that he would extend his contract with the Hoops and as a result, if he remains at Parkhead beyond this summer, he would be expected to leave as a free agent next summer.
As we approach the end of the transfer window, there is not much more time left to hold out for a bigger transfer fee.
If he was performing at his best, it might have made sense for the club to try and hold on to him for his final year as he could make a huge difference in the Premiership title race. But on current form, it feels unlikely that he will do that. Also, the transfer fee that Celtic would receive for Edouard’s departure could go a long way in the squad rebuild.
Of course, it is very possible that he might end up staying at Parkhead for the season, rediscover his form and go on to have a great campaign. Let’s see what the future holds.
