Kyogo Furuhashi has enjoyed a brilliant start to life at Celtic. When he was signed, many questioned whether he could adjust to the Scottish game. It is safe to say that he has done so and then some.

He has shown his quality both in domestic and European football. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals and provided an assist in his 8 appearances for the Hoops so far.

And it is not just his effectiveness in front of goal that has caught the eye but his overall performances as well. He has come in and quickly become perhaps the most important part of Postecoglou’s side.

Thus, going into the game against the Rangers, the fans must have been sweating about his fitness considering how often he is fouled every match. But it sounds like the Japanese star will be fine. Speaking ahead of the game on the club’s official YouTube channel and as reported by 67 Hail Hail, Postecoglou said:

"“Kyogo got his usual bruises and knocks. He is getting tested out physically every game, I think people are figuring out that he is one of the ones they need to stop and try to find, shall I say, creative ways to do that. But he usually bounces back pretty well so I am hopeful he will be fine.”"

Kyogo has become a very important member of this Celtic team

The Hoops have been in good form recently. And while they might have lost the second leg of their Europa League play-off round tie against AZ Alkmaar, they did manage to make it through to the group stage of the competition with a 3-2 win on aggregate.

While defence might still be an area of worry for the club, heading into the game against the Rangers, they must be confident of their chances of getting a result away at Ibrox. That has not been the case for quite a while and there is certainly an excitement around this game among the supporters.

If Postecoglou’s side are to win though, Kyogo’s presence in the team will be very important. He has been in spectacular form and brings just something very different to the table with his movement and eye for goal.
