Kevin Nisbet is a player who Celtic have been linked with recently and it is not hard to see why. Nisbet is coming off of a good season with Hibernian. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 18 goals and provided 8 assists in 44 appearances last season for Hibernian. And at 24 years of age, he is only expected to get better as a footballer moving forward.
On the other hand, Ange Postecoglou could certainly do with another option up top. While Kyogo Furuhashi has looked absolutely fantastic since joining the club earlier this summer, the club’s other strikers appear to be out of form at the moment.
Odsonne Edouard has not been at his best for quite some time now, although he has appeared to find some form recently. He continues to be linked with a summer transfer exit though. On the other hand, neither Leigh Griffiths nor Albian Ajeti have managed to impress in recent times.
Thus, a move for someone like Nisbet could make a lot of sense for the club but it looks like it might not be on the cards right now. As reported by BBC, Hibernian head coach Jack Ross said on BBC Scotland’s Sportsound:
"“People might think it might happen in the future, but at this moment in time there’s never been one single conversation or discussion around it [Celtic move].”"

Celtic handed Nisbet transfer blow
It goes without saying that someone like Nisbet would be a fantastic addition to the Hoops’ squad but a move might not be on the cards this summer. The club have been linked with other strikers recently.
The name of Georgios Giakoumakis has been brought up quite often with regards to a Parkhead move over the past week or so. The VVV-Venlo striker finished at the top of the Eredivisie scoring charts last season and looks set to depart the club this summer. Thomas Henry is another player they have been linked with recently but he looks set for a move elsewhere.
It will be interesting to see if the Hoops do end up signing a striker this summer and who it turns out to be, especially if Edouard ends up leaving the club.
