Former Celtic defender being linked with Rangers move
By StevieMac
After Celtic’s recent form and performances, it pretty much looks like the club will challenge the Rangers for the Premiership title this season. But could one of the Hoops’ former players end up playing for Steven Gerrard’s side this time around?
It is safe to say that the Rangers have not made a brilliant start to the season and have not been very active in the transfer market either. But as reported by 90 Min, they are one of the clubs in the mix for Jack Hendry. It is believed that the defender has a release clause under £5 million.
A number of other clubs are believed to be in the race for Hendry’s signature as well and things could certainly get interesting.
It was just this summer that Hendry joined KV Oostende on a permanent move following a loan spell there last season. The Belgian side took the option to buy in the loan deal after the defender enjoyed a brilliant loan campaign there and even managed to return to the Scotland national team picture. There have always been suggestions though that he could be on the move once again with a lot of clubs believed to be interested in signing him.

Could the former Celtic star end up joining the Rangers?
It is always questionable whether players will actually move across the city. Some have in the past but not many. Hendry did not have a great spell at Parkhead, but he has grown as a player in Belgium, made his way back into the Scotland national team picture and things are pretty much looking up for his future.
A return to Scottish football and Glasgow when other options are believed to available, seems unlikely. But at the end of the day, anything can happen in football.
And then one has to wonder how many signings the Rangers would be able to bring in before the summer transfer window closes. Interestingly, they have already signed a former KV Oostende player this summer in the form of Fashion Sakala on a free transfer.
