Celtic could certainly do with another striker at this point of time. And Georgios Giakoumakis is someone who has been heavily linked with a move to Parkhead over the last few days.
It is not hard to see why the club would be linked with the Greek international. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 29 goals and provided 2 assists in 33 appearances for VVV-Venlo last season. 26 of those goals came in the Eredivisie as he ended up topping the scoring charts in the Dutch top flight.
VVV-Venlo ended up getting relegated though and as a result, Giakoumakis is expected to depart the club this summer. Werder Bremen are also believed to be interested in signing the striker. Some recent rumours suggested though that the Hoops had managed to agree a deal for the striker but it looks like that is not the case after all.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, no transfer fee has yet been agreed and the move is not close to being finalised.

Celtic have not agreed a Giakoumakis deal yet
Giakoumakis could certainly be a solid addition to Ange Postecoglou’s side. While his goal scoring record before the 2020/21 campaign was not great, he has shown that in the right system, he can certainly find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
Also, signing the Eredivisie top scorer is an exciting prospect. It is believed that he could be available for a transfer fee of around £2.5 million this summer.
At this point of time, Kyogo Furuhashi is in brilliant form up top for the Hoops and has looked unstoppable ever since arriving at Parkhead. Other than him, none of the club’s other strikers appear to be in form though. 0dsonne Edouard has not been at his best for a while and is also being linked with a summer exit. On the other hand, Leigh Griffiths and Albian Ajeti have not impressed lately.
