Celtic have made quite a few signings this summer. Liam Shaw, Osaze Urhoghide, Liel Abada, Kyogo Furuhashi, Carl Starfelt, Joe Hart and James McCarthy have all arrived at Parkhead.

But such was the magnitude of the squad transformation that was required this summer after the disappointment of the 2020/21 campaign, that it is clear that a few more additions are still needed.

Now, the Hoops have looked tremendous going forward over the past few weeks. They have managed to outscore their opponents 16 to 4 in their last four games, winning all of them. But things have not gone as smoothly on the other end of the pitch as defence still remains a worry and an area where they could do with a few reinforcements in. And it does look like the club are about to make a brilliant signing for their backline.

As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic have agreed a £2.5 million transfer fee with Legia Warsaw to sign Josip Juranovic. Now, talks remain ongoing about the final details of the deal and the personal terms for the player.

Juranovic can be brilliant addition to this Celtic squad

It looks like the Hoops are very close to getting a deal over the line for Juranovic and he can be a brilliant signing for the club.

Juranovic was a big part of Legia Warsaw’s league-winning side from last season. He is also a Croatian international and featured for them at UEFA EURO 2020.

Thus, he certainly has the pedigree to be a success at Parkhead. The 26-year-old right-back is brilliant going forward and good defensively. As a result, he can be a good fit in Ange Postecoglou’s style of football.

Right-back is a position that the club have needed to make an addition in for quite some time now. Anthony Ralston is the only recognised right-back in the squad right now. And while he has done very well in recent weeks, both competition and depth are needed there.
