Things are looking up for Celtic at the moment. They have won their past four games and have looked brilliant while doing so. The Hoops have managed to outscore their opponents 16 to 4 in these four games with several of the players looking very impressive.

But even then, there are quite a few positions in the squad that need strengthening if the Hoops are to keep up these performances through the course of the season. One of those positions is right-back.

Now, it must be said that Anthony Ralston has looked absolutely brilliant in recent times and deserves a lot of praise for how he has stepped up to the plate. But he is the only recognised right-back in Ange Postecoglou’s squad right now.

Thus, the Hoops need to make an addition there. Yan Couto was someone who was being linked with a Parkhead move but now it looks like the club have turned their attention. As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic are set to make their approach for Josip Juranovic. Legia Warsaw are ready to listen to their opening transfer bid. He is rated at around £2.5 million (€3 million) and is believed to be keen on a move to Glasgow.

Celtic are set to make Juranovic transfer bid

It goes without saying that Couto is an exciting prospect. But he is 19 years of age and has not played first division football yet. As a result, at this point of time, Juranovic might very well be the better signing.

Juranovic has some solid experience at both club and international level. According to stats from Transfermarkt, the 26-year-old has made 40 appearances for Legia Warsaw till now, scoring once and providing 10 assists. He has also made 10 appearances for the Croatia national team and featured at UEFA EURO 2020.

One more positive is that Juranovic is available on a permanent deal while Couto is believed to be available on a loan move, with his long-term future lying at Manchester City. Now, it remains to be seen if the Hoops are able to get a deal for the Croatian international over the line.
