Celtic have made quite a few signings this summer. Liam Shaw, Osaze Urhoghide, Liel Abada, Kyogo Furuhashi, Carl Starfelt, Joe Hart and James McCarthy have all arrived at Parkhead over the past few months.

But if the Hoops are to put up a challenge for the Scottish Premiership title, they need to make a few more additions. While the recent performances have been very impressive and encouraging, with Ange Postecoglou’s side winning four games on the trot and outscoring their opponents 16-4 over these games, the lack of depth in certain positions could be a major worry moving forward.

Signings are needed, especially at the back. While the Hoops have looked brilliant going forward, their defence still looks shaky at times. Right-back, left-back and centre-back are all positions where they could do with some additions.

It does look like the club will make a few signings before the summer transfer window closes though. While speaking with BBC and as reported by The Scottish Sun, Postecoglou said regarding the situation:

"“I hope we’re close (to bringing in new faces).“We are working hard and the window is not indefinite.“Time is running out but I’m very, very confident we will have some more players in before that happens.”"

Postecoglou is very confident that some more players will arrive at Celtic this summer

Postecoglou deserves a lot of praise for the work he has done in a short span of time. While the start to the season was tough, with a few new signings arriving, he appears to have completely transformed this side.

The Hoops are playing some of their best football in a long time at the moment and look absolutely brilliant going forward. Of course, there is some work to be done at the back but overall, the signs are very encouraging for what is to come in the future.

With a few weeks of the summer transfer window left, hopefully the club will be able to make the signings that they need as soon as possible so that they can come in and get as much time as possible to adjust to their new surroundings and teammates.
