Celtic have strengthened in a number of positions over the course of the summer transfer window. Liam Shaw, Osaze Urhoghide, Liel Abada, Kyogo Furuhashi, Carl Starfelt, Joe Hart and James McCarthy have all arrived at Parkhead in recent times. Yet, a number of new signings might be needed if the Hoops are to compete for the Premiership title this season.
One player who could be on his way out of Parkhead though is Odsonne Edouard. The French striker has been one of the club’s best players in recent years but with him in the final 12 months of his contract, an exit might very well be on the cards this summer.
If Edouard does leave though, the club will need to sign a replacement for him. Thomas Henry is someone that they have been recently linked with. And it looks like the player is interested in joining Celtic as well if the opportunity presents itself.
While speaking with Football Insider, his UK representative Paul Tait said:
"“Thomas’ preference is to join Celtic if they can agree a fee with Leuven.“Gent have agreed a fee with Leuven and they are in pole position to land Thomas.”"

Henry prefers Celtic move but Gent are in pole position to sign him
Henry is a very different kind of striker to the ones that Ange Postecoglou has in his squad at the moment. Standing at 6′ 4″, he is a physical presence in both boxes and a real target man. Thus, if the Hoops are able to sign him, he will provide a very different option to this team.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Henry scored 21 goals and provided 7 assists in 33 appearances last season across all competitions and he has started this campaign in brilliant form as well.
Thus, it is not hard to see why the Hoops would want somebody like him. But it looks like Gent have managed to agree a transfer fee for Henry. And in that scenario, a move to Parkhead now seems unlikely for the 26-year-old French striker unless they can do something quickly.
