Celtic have brought in quite a few new players in this summer transfer window. Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada, Carl Starfelt, Joe Hart, James McCarthy, Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide have all arrived at Parkhead. Some of them have made a big impact, while others are still finding their feet.

Things are looking positive at the moment as it looks like the team is quickly adjusting to the style of football that Ange Postecoglou wants them to play and the recent results have been impressive.

The Hoops have won three games on the trot, and have outscored their opponents 13-2 over these games. There are still areas in this team that need strengthening though with one of them being right-back.

Anthony Ralston has done quite well recently, even scoring two wonderful goals this season. But there is not much depth beyond him and the club do need to make a signing at right-back. And it looks like Celtic have a new right-back transfer priority. Tomasz Włodarczyk tweeted out (via 67 Hail Hail):

"“I have full confirmation. Celtic yesterday decided that their priority is Yan Couto from Manchester City. And they will try to bring him on loan. There is also interest from SC Braga in his case. If it collapses, they can go back to Juranovic.”"

Celtic appear to have a new right-back transfer priority

The Hoops have been linked with a number of right-backs over the course of this summer transfer window. Not too long ago, it was looking like they were going to make a move for Aurelio Buta. After that Josip Juranovic was rumoured to be their top target in the position. Now, it looks like they have their eyes set on Yan Couto.

Couto is a very highly-rated 19-year-old right-back currently signed to Manchester City. He spent the previous season on loan at Girona and is yet to play top division football in his career.

Thus, if the Hoops do decide to make a move for him, it will come with a fair bit of risk considering his lack of experience. On the other hand, Juranovic has solid experience at both club and international level.
