Going into the summer, it was clear that Celtic needed to make additions in a number of positions all over the pitch. And they have made a number of signings over the course of the summer transfer window. Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada, Carl Starfelt, Joe Hart, James McCarthy, Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide have all arrived at Parkhead.
Yet, there are still a few positions where Ange Postecoglou could do with reinforcements in. One of them is right-back.
Now, Anthony Ralston has certainly done very well recently and has looked like a player transformed over the past few weeks. He has scored a couple of wonderful goals already and has been one of the Hoops’ better performers.
But he is still the only recognised right-back in the squad. And as a result, the club do need to sign another right-back before the transfer window shuts.

Celtic reportedly made a failed loan move attempt
As reported by the Daily Mail, Celtic tried to secure a loan deal for George Baldock but Sheffield United do not want to consider a temporary move for the right-back.
It is not hard to see why the Hoops would be interested in Baldock. He was a key member of the Sheffield United team that spent a couple of seasons in the Premier League. The Blades were very impressive in the 2019/20 season as well, finishing ninth in the top flight of English football straight after promotion. They are back in the Championship now.
In recent weeks though, it has felt like the rumours linking Baldock with a move to Parkhead have gone a bit cold. The Hoops have recently been linked with the likes of Aurelio Buta, Fabricio Bustos and a few others.
It is expected that the club will sign a new right-back over the course of the next few weeks. It remains to be seen though who that will be.
