Agent provides major update on Celtic-linked Thomas Henry

Thomas Henry is a player who has been linked with a move to Celtic recently. The French striker currently plays for Belgian club, OH Leuven.

The striker was in brilliant form last season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 21 goals and provided 6 assists in 31 league appearances for the club in the 2020/21 campaign. He has also scored 3 goals in 3 league appearances this season.

With Odsonne Edouard’s future up in the air and a summer exit looking very much like a possibility with just a year left on his current deal, it is not surprising that the Hoops have been linked with the striker this summer.

His UK representative, Paul Tait, has given an update surrounding the situation as it looks like several clubs are interested in signing the in-form striker. As reported by Football Insider, he said:

"“There are a number of clubs who have expressed an interest in signing Thomas before the transfer window closes.“My business partner Dusan has received offers from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the UK for Thomas, and he will consider all his options before making a decision on his future.”"

Henry would bring something very different to Celtic

It is safe to say that Henry is a different kind of striker to those Celtic have at the moment. The Frenchman is 6′ 4″ and could be the physical presence in the box that the Hoops are found missing at times. He would bring something very different to the table for sure.

If the club are able to sign, it would also open up a lot of different possibilities for Ange Postecoglou. He could play a duo up top. Or he could move someone like Furuhashi to the left and have Henry as the target man in the middle.

Rumours have suggested that Henry is rated at around £7 million and there appear to be a number of clubs around Europe, who are interested in signing the striker. It is not hard to see why considering his recent form. Also, at 26 years of age, he is entering his prime as a footballer. As a result, if Celtic are able to get a deal over the line, it would be considered as a major coup.
