Major update regarding Ryan Christie’s Celtic contract situation
Ryan Christie might very well be the most important player in Ange Postecoglou’s team at this point of time and as a result, his Celtic contract situation might be a worry.
Christie’s current deal is believed to be expiring in January, which means that he could end up leaving the club as a free agent just some months later. But his current form means that the Hoops should try to keep him at Parkhead for the foreseeable future.
Christie has been absolutely superb in Postecoglou’s system. He looks like a perfect fit in this style of football and has performed brilliantly whenever he has been on the pitch. As a result, it should not come as a surprise that most fans are hoping that he ends up extending his contract with the club and there appears to be an update regarding that situation.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic have held fresh talks with Christie over a possible new contract but he is yet to receive a concrete offer to extend his deal.

Christie staying would be a massive boost for Celtic
Christie is arguably playing his best football for the club right now. In the 6-0 win over Dundee, he set up three goals and his overall performances during Postecoglou’s time as manager have been absolutely superb.
It does look like things are finally starting to fall into place at Parkhead and things could be turning around. At this stage, Christie leaving would be a massive blow to the club and as a result, they must try their best to keep the midfielder.
Of course, it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds. There are still rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League. But one would hope that his early season performances have managed to convince Christie into considering extending his stay at Parkhead.
