Kyogo Furuhashi arrived at Celtic with a lot of expectations. And it looks like he is already starting to deliver, as he scored a hattrick against Dundee on his Parkhead debut as the Hoops got a 6-0 win.

It was a brilliant performance from the entire team. The best one in a long time and Ange Postecoglou must be delighted as it looks like things are starting to fall into place.

It is safe to say that Furuhashi was the hero on the day. He scored three goals in the game which showed his brilliant sense of positioning and eye for goal. And he could have even scored a couple more.

Following the game, the Japanese star sent out a brilliant message on Twitter. Furuhashi sent out a tweet with the caption reading:

"“Feel grateful to best fans, teammates, team staffs, and everybody who suport me to enjoy football. And very happy to be part of this family“It’s just a beginning…work hard and together we can go higher.“Arigato”"

Furuhashi is looking like a great signing for Celtic

Furuhashi made his debut for the club as a second-half substitute against Hearts in the opening day defeat in the Premiership and could not make an impact after coming on.

In the last two games though, he has been great. He scored against FK Jablonec in the first leg of the Europa League third qualifying round tie and then managed to score a hattrick on his debut at Parkhead.

When he was signed, there were some questions about how he would cope with the physicality of Scottish football. The early signs do suggest that that won’t be a problem and he is a player who relies on his movement and positioning rather than strength.

On the other hand, there were also questions about whether he would play up top or on the left-wing. After that performance, you have to feel that he will the club’s number 9 moving forward.

Of course, it is still early days when it comes to Furuhashi’s time at Celtic Park. But it is hard not to get excited about what is to come.
