Celtic have already made a number of additions to their squad this summer. Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada, Carl Starfelt, Joe Hart, James McCarthy, Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide have all arrived at Parkhead.
But even then, it is clear that the club need to make a few more additions to their squad. Right-back is one area that they certainly need to bring in reinforcements.
Anthony Ralston has done pretty well in his last few appearances. But beyond him, there is no depth in the position as he is the only recognised right-back in Ange Postecoglou’s squad at the moment.
The club have been linked with several right-back options recently. Just earlier in the day, the name of Fabricio Bustos was brought up as a potential signing. And now, it looks like the club might even be preparing a transfer bid for another right-back. As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic are said to be preparing a transfer bid of around £4.5 million for Aurelio Buta. However, Royal Antwerp may value him even higher and the Hoops have other names on their list as well.

Celtic could be set to make transfer bid for Buta
The Hoops have been linked with Buta for quite some time now. But earlier rumours had suggested that he was rated at a transfer fee around €3.5 million. The latest figure is quite a bit higher than that.
Also, you have to question how Buta would fit into this side. While he has great attacking attributes, he might not be as good on the defensive side of things. And that could be a worry, considering Postecoglou’s team have not looked very good defensively until now.
The club have been linked with several other right-backs as well and would be expected to sign one soon, considering the season is already underway and Ralston is still the only option available there. It remains to be seen how things unfold over the coming days.
