It looks like Celtic are about to sign Joe Hart soon. The club have been linked with the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper for the past week or so now, and the move does not seem far away now.

Goalkeeping has been a worry for the Hoops in recent times. Vasilis Barkas, Scott Bain and Conor Hazard all got runs in the first-team last season but none of them where able to make the gloves their own.

After a bright start to pre-season this time around, it was looking like Barkas was starting to find his feet at Parkhead but since then he has made a couple of mistakes. As a result, signing another goalkeeper appeared to become important for the club.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted out that the move for Hart is a done deal, the medical and official announcement are set to take place this week and his salary will be £15,000 per week:

Hart looks set to join Celtic

The salary is certainly interesting. Many believed that it could have proven to be a stumbling block for the Hoops but it appears that Hart has agreed to take a major pay cut.

The fact that he wants to join the club should be very exciting news for the fans. The 34-year-old has not been a first-team starter for a club for a few years now. But at the top of his game, he is a brilliant goalkeeper and one can only hope that he can rediscover his form at Parkhead. If that ends up being the case then this could turn out to be a brilliant move.

Of course, a move is not over the line yet and hopefully that will happen as soon as possible. Hart is a commanding presence in the box and is known for his fast reflexes, and he could prove to be the kind of goalkeeper that the club need right now.
