Celtic have been linked with a number of players over the course of the last few months as it is clear that they need to make signings in a number of positions in this summer transfer window.

Centre-back is one such area. The club have already brought in Carl Starfelt and Osaze Urhoghide this summer, both of whom are capable of playing there but it does look like Ange Postecoglou could do with another option in the heart of the defence.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Cameron Carter-Vickers is someone that the Hoops have been heavily linked with in recent times.

The United States international has not been able to make his mark in the Tottenham Hotspur first-team and could be on his way out of the club this summer. As reported by the Daily Record, the Hoops remain in talks with the Premier League club over Carter-Vickers but any hope of a loan move is a non-starter as the centre-back is eager to secure a permanent move.

A loan move to Celtic is not on the cards for Carter-Vickers

While Carter-Vickers has not been able to establish himself in the Tottenham Hotspur first-team till now, he does have plenty of experience under his belt already, having spent time on loan at six different clubs in the Championship through the course of his career.

The 23-year-old is believed to be rated at a transfer fee of around £5 million, and it will be interesting to see if the Hoops decide to shell out that kind of a transfer fee after having already signed Starfelt this summer and especially since they need to make signings in several other positions as well.

Carter-Vickers could be a solid addition for the Hoops. He has plenty of experience in the Championship and has represented the United States national team on multiple occasions. Several other clubs around England and Europe are also believed to be interested in signing the youngster.
