Celtic made a disappointing start to their Premiership campaign with a 2-1 defeat away to Hearts. The result means that they are already three points behind the Rangers in the league table.

The hosts scored early on but the Hoops brought things level through a Anthony Ralston goal in the second half. But then Hearts scored late in the game and clinched all three points on opening day.

The Hoops have now lost four of their last five games including pre-season friendlies. There have been some positives to take from certain aspects of their performances, but at the end of the day, they need to get results. And it is safe to say that their results have not been the best till now.

Ange Postecoglou recognises that it will be important for his side to turn the performances into wins quickly. While speaking with Sky Sports, he said:

"“We can’t afford time, we’ve got to start getting results and turning our good play into results.”"

Celtic need to turn things around

It is safe to say that the Hoops have not made a great start to the season. But with some more signings and the players getting more used to Postecoglou’s style of football, there is no reason that they cannot turn things around.

Carl Starfelt and Kyogo Furuhashi featured today, but they have not been with the team for long at all. They will take some time to settle in to their new surroundings and hopefully, they can find their feet in Scottish football quickly.

It is only natural that it will take time for Postecoglou to implement his style of football but until then, the Hoops need to get results. There are certain aspects of the game that the side are struggling at right now. In the final third, there are a lot of chances which are not finding the back of the net. Defensively also, the team needs to be better.
