It is safe to say that Odsonne Edouard has been one of the most important players at Celtic ever since he joined the club. But with just a year left on his current deal, his future at Parkhead remains up in the air.

He was expected to leave the club this summer and at one point of time, it looked like he was closing in on a move to Leicester City. But that failed to materialise and The Foxes ended up signing Patson Daka instead.

Since then, not many rumours have surrounded Edouard regarding a Parkhead exit as it looks like it is a possibility that he could end up staying at the club for another season, after which he will become a free agent.

But as reported by Give Me Sport, Edouard is still working on a Celtic exit this summer. The 23-year-old is now into the final 12 months of his contract.

Could Edouard leave Celtic this summer?

Edouard leaving is certainly a possibility. While the move to Leicester City might be off the table, there are several other clubs who have been linked with the Frenchman in the recent past.

Not too long ago, it was looking like Kristoffer Ajer might also end up staying at Parkhead for another season. But since then, he has joined Brentford while the Hoops have signed Carl Starfelt.

Similarly, the club might be looking to sign a replacement before they let Edouard leave this summer. And that would make sense, since he has been the main striker at Parkhead for a few seasons now.

The Frenchman has crossed the 20-goal mark in the previous three seasons and on his day, he is perhaps the best player in the entire Premiership. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Edouard has scored 83 goals and provided 37 assists in 169 appearances for the Hoops till now.
